Toyendale Chapter 3

Chapter 3

             After falling down from the Lightfall to this wonderful world, Daisy and Silver Star found themselves in a fluffy ground which was bright pink and everything surrounded that place looked alike in the shades of pink. Only the sky was perfectly blue but it had a white sun instead of the yellow one Daisy was used to. Because of the ground, it became impossible for Silver Star to move since he both had to carry his and Daisy’s weight which made him struck deeper in the ground. So Daisy dismounted from him and she jumped around to discover this place in the meantime totally forgetting the reason why she came here. This place seemed like some sort of the forest to her. Everywhere was full of pink freakishly tall trees. Daisy felt that she liked this alternative world. It was as if her dreams became true.

“Don’t be afraid. Just taste it” said Silver Star pointing out one of the trees with feather-like leaves. She took one of them and played within her hand. It was really soft but also a bit sticky. She nibbled a tiny piece of it and realised that it melted in her mouth.

“Cotton candy” she burst out with a smile. “Are these marshmallows?” she asked while pointing towards the bushes. Before she got her answer back within a millisecond, they heard a cry.

‘’What are you doing in my forest?’’

The owner of the voice showed up himself. He was an orange stuffed monkey almost as high as up to knees of Daisy.  Despite his cute appearance of a stuffed animal, he had an angry look. Daisy gave him an uneasy smile.

‘’We are looking for our sisters, Rodd’’ said Silver Star. He seemed that he knew this strange monkey.

‘’I don’t know you or your sisters. Now, get out of my place! Or I will kick you out.’’ He shouted to Daisy which made her uncomfortable.

“Easy, boy” said Silver Star with a cool tone. Daisy thought this small monkey can’t hurt her but she never was in a fight before. She was always the bully one in the school. No one could stand up against her. It was for the first time in her life someone threatened her.

Silver Star was ready to stand up but an old friend came out of the forest. Hearing the voice of the most selfish monkey ever in this place, Mai, rather a friendly dinosaur showed up. She took a marshmallow bush and chew it slowly which makes Rodd angrier as before. She knew he hated it when she did it. But Rod was never friendly to anyone he just wanted them to leave his forest. He didn’t even share his place with his siblings; Jessie and Lea. That place was where he could be himself and do whatever he wanted. And now Mai, the annoying dinosaur also arrived there to make that peaceful place worse.

  ‘’You can only enjoy here by sharing it with others Rodd’’ said Mai. She thought that selfishness of the Rodd was going to destroy him one day. Although he was the most selfish monkey, she wanted to help him. Rodd didn’t care about the advice of Mai but he was so curious about what happened to these people’s sisters since the girl grabbed his attention somehow. It was unlikely that Rodd cared for anyone in Toyendale. But luckily Daisy wasn’t from here. So he asked him what happened to her sister. She told him the story of how she came here.

‘’My sister is lost. Silver Star thinks that our sisters have been kidnapped by someone who lives in this land.’’ Rodd wasn’t happy to hear that. He never heard of a person who got lost and found. The lost ones stayed lost forever in this land. Just like his parents disappeared one day. He became furious than before.

‘’I told you only I live in this area. You should better go to visit Crystal Queen since she is the one in charge in Toyendale’’ shouted Rodd. He didn’t want to remember his parents and their sudden leave. Mai and Silver Star was talking about the Crystal Queen. They haven’t seen her before. All they know about her is she is the most powerful women.

“Have you met her, Rodd?” asked Daisy.

“I have seen her once. She passed here some time ago. I don’t know when.” Then he started thinking about the time. He couldn’t separate any of his time, yesterday from the week ago.

Silver Star whispered to Daisy that they should leave this place soon. But Daisy is curious about Rodd. Without a hesitation, she asked him why he leaves in here alone. He seems that he is not like sharing his properties which remind Daisy of herself. She never shared her balcony with her sister. And her missing was the result of it. Now she had to deal with the problem.

‘’But living alone is sad. Wouldn’t you be happier if your sisters were here to play with you?’’ asked Daisy. She was telling the exact same words when her mother used to defend Summer.

“They would make so much fuss and annoy me a lot.”

“That’s what I used to think of my sister” admitted Daisy. She continued “but with them life is always fun and different. Aren’t you bored of doing all the same thing every day by our own?”

‘’That would be fun, I suppose’’ said Rodd. He never thought like that before. That girl made a good point. He thought maybe he will invite his sisters some time. Something affected Rodd that day and he never realised what changed his mind.

“I was telling you the same thing all the time” complained Mai. From cotton candy bushes two baby dinosaurs came with crawling towards them. Unlike their mother Mai who was green, these dinos are bright yellow. Daisy grabbed one of them and gave it to Rodd and she took the remaining one for herself. The baby dino bit Rodd’s finger which caused him to laugh for the first time. He felt happier than before. He never knew it was Daisy who changed his life for the second time. Neither Daisy nor Rodd remembered each other but there were friends a long time ago for a certain period of time when Daisy was a baby like these dinos.

‘’We should seek for the Crystal Queen if you are ready?’’ asked Silver Star. Mai showed the exit of the forest and Daisy pulled out a chocolate from her pocket to feed Mai’s babies. She felt that sharing her things makes her happier.
